Angry Video Game Nerd: DVD Easter Eggs
Hidden gems from the nerd's vault

Written by A.J. Maciejewski for Extras on
If you're as much of an AVGN fan as I am, you probably own at least a few of his DVD sets. While recently watching them again, I discovered some Easter eggs that I thought I'd share. So, grab a Rolling Rock and let's get to it!

Volume 2
On disc three (AKA Volume Ass), enter the Vintage Nerd Material menu. Next, highlight Midnight Demon Theatre and push right twice then up to see a question mark appear. What is this, Milon's Secret Castle? Anyway, push enter and watch the nerd with a superimposed Donald Duck head incoherently sing the AVGN theme song. That was worth it, I guess...
Volume 3
Again on disc three, go into the Extras menu and highlight Back. There are two Easter eggs here. The first is activated by pushing right twice then enter. After you enjoy watching a young nerd say a naughty word, try pushing right twice, up, then enter on the same Back option for some delicious yet brief monkey cheese.

Volume 4
This set also features two Easter eggs on disc three that happen to be accessed exactly the same way as in Volume 3. The first (Extras menu, Back, right, right, enter) is a blooper from the Castlevania: Part 2 episode where James screws up a line. The second (Extras menu, Back, right, right, up, enter) is the uncensored version of the Godzilla episode's ending. Have you ever wanted to know what the nerd said that's so bad even he felt like he had to censor it? Well, today's your lucky day.
Volume 5
For this one, pop in the third disc and push right then enter from Commentary - Game Glitches. Here, you'll get to see how much of a mess Lester the Unlikely 5 left for the nerd to clean up. That's one game unboxing video that I'd actually want to see!

There you have it; six reasons to dust off your AVGN DVDs and witness some absurd time-wasting moments from the cutting room floor. Have you found any other hidden treasures? Let me know in the comments below!
