Ayo the Clown 2D Platformer of the Month

Ayo the Clown is a delightful 2D platformer through and through and even though it's cute, colourful, and cheerful; it still boasts a solid amount of challenge. Throw in a variety of gameplay segments and tight controls and you're left with one fantastic platformer! v1d30chumz 34-239-154-240

How are you gonna collect your award if you're hiding in that truck, Ayo?

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights Metroidvania of the Month

Metroidvanias that simply do everything right are a rarity and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights manages to combine rewarding gameplay with its dark world beautifully. Attacking with a spirit that follows you around is oh so satisfying and the fact that you can recruit defeated bosses to provide additional abilities and attacks is just awesome. With a sprawling world featuring branching paths and oodles of secrets, it's a tough Metroidvania to put down whenever you start playing it. Oh, and its dodge mechanic makes combat quite visceral.

Within the Blade Action Game of the Month

Within the Blade provides an old-school level of challenge where you really have to give it your all if you want to complete it. Thankfully, it features a nifty inventory system, satisfying stealth elements, and intense action which makes toppling its bosses a treat.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale Co-op Game of the Month

Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a relaxing Zelda-like that's an ideal game to play with your kid as they can draw and paint the screen as you traverse its lovely overworld and puzzle-filled dungeons. Plus, it has a beautiful overall message of accepting who you are.

Induction Puzzle Game of the Month

You don't see many indie puzzle games that are mind-blowingly challenging so Induction is here to knock your socks off as it features time-travel elements where you create clones of your past self and work together with them to master stages. Tricky stuff!

It may look simple but Induction is one tough puzzler!

Orcs Must Die! 3 Strategy Game of the Month

Since the series' inception, Orcs Must Die! has provided thrilling tower-defense gameplay where you fend off hordes of monsters and this third entry ratchets up the fun by providing tons of brand new traps and elements within its handful of enjoyable modes.

The bigger they are, the more flammable... right?

Crash Drive 3 Multiplayer Game of the Month

There aren't many games that have you simply enter a sandbox with a bunch of online players then compete in events with them so Crash Drive 3 is a breath of fresh air with its silly game world, tight gameplay, and pick-up-and-play approach to fun.

Trigger Witch Twin-stick Shooter of the Month

Trigger Witch is one of those games that I planned on playing a bit here and there but then it sucked me in and that's all I ended up doing all day. Its combination of gratifying shooting action and ridiculous violence makes for one consistently exciting campaign.

Cotton Reboot! Shoot 'em Up of the Month

Cotton is a niche shoot 'em up that's been around for 3 decades and this Reboot brings new life to the underrated classic by amplifying the action, tightening up the gameplay, and creating an imaginative game world that's filled with goofy enemies. Yay!

Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials Retro-Inspired Game of the Month

Let me just say that Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials is one of the best indies that I've played all year. I absolutely love its sense of humour and its exploration-based campaign is super-rewarding, especially with all the tricky puzzles strewn about its environments.

Sounds like a plan!

1976 - Back to midway VR Game of the Month

Although it has nothing to do with Capcom's 1942 or Psikyo's Strikers 1945 series, 1976 - Back to midway revives the spirit of these shoot 'em up classics in a distinct virtual reality setup that offers plenty of eye-popping effects to a tried and true formula.

Blaster Master Zero 3 Indie Game of the Month

As a lover of challenging retro-style experiences, I'm a huge fan of the Blaster Master Zero franchise and this final game in the trilogy is excellent as it's bursting with fun challenges that take place within a huge and mind-bending game world. Congrats, Jason!
