Dadish 3 2D Platformer of the Month
Dadish has been a favourite indie series of mine ever since I played the first one on Switch back in 2020. Its traditional 2D platforming mixes with adorable visuals and hilarious dialogue to create a memorable experience and this third entry carries on its legacy well. v1d30chumz 44-212-99-248

Little Noah: Scion of Paradise Roguelike of the Month
Little Noah: Scion of Paradise is one of those games that will likely fly under many gamers' radar but don't let it because it's one of the most enjoyable roguelikes out there. Borrowing a bit from Metroidvania levels while featuring classic 2D action gameplay, you play as Noah who commands an army of Lilliputs which act as her weapons and skills. Recruiting more Lilliputs and gradually repairing your airship as you traverse deeper and deeper on each attempt makes for a super-rewarding gameplay loop that's definitely hard to put down. 😊

HunterX Metroidvania of the Month
Speaking of Metroidvanias, HunterX features tight 2D action as you traverse its modern albeit demon-infested world. It also has some Soulslike elements yet it manages to forge its own unique identity through its reaction-based combat and satisfying character upgrades.

Arcadegeddon Action Game of the Month
There are loads of online multiplayer games to choose from nowadays but you rarely see something as unique as Arcadegeddon. Speeding through levels as you listen to the awesome glitch music and shoot all sorts of enemies is a ton of fun, especially with allies.

Stray Adventure Game of the Month
You've probably heard of Stray and it's certainly award-worthy with its distinct post-apocalyptic setting and the fact that you can play as a feline hero who assists robots in underground cities. Do I really need to say more? Stray is the cat's pajamas! 🐱

Escape Academy Co-op Game of the Month
Escape rooms are nothing new but video games that emulate the experience well are. Thankfully, cooperating with a chum while solving the tricky yet totally doable puzzles within Escape Academy is an absolute blast and makes it a perfect date night game. 💑

LumbearJack Casual Game of the Month
LumbearJack has you play as a bear named Jack who wields an axe and has had it with an evil corporation that's making his habitat unlivable. The relaxing carefree gameplay is oddly satisfying which means it's an ideal game to wind down with after a long day. 🐻

Overrogue RPG of the Month
As a roguelike card-based RPG, Overrogue has a lot of elements yet they all come together to form a jam-packed and entertaining game that'll keep making you say "just one more go!" There's an impressive amount of depth so make sure you wear your thinking cap. 🎴

Yurukill: The Calumniation Games Shoot 'em Up of the Month
Although I'm a huge fan of the genre, here we have a shoot 'em up that I didn't actually get to review; Mary did! The times they are a-changin'. Anyway, Yurukill: The Calumniation Games combines shmup gameplay with a murder mystery crime-solving adventure in a surprisingly cohesive manner so if you're a fan of either genre then definitely give it a go. 🕵️

Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony Retro-Inspired Game of the Month
I love old-school indie games and Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony did a fantastic job capturing the magic of classic horror-themed 2D action games. Plus, you can fly wherever you want which is awesome but don't assume that doing so will make things easy! 😜

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC of the Month
Of course, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is a ton of fun so if you own Cuphead then you need to play The Delicious Last Course as it features a brand new character and mini-campaign that'll have you fighting all sorts of super-difficult bosses. ☕

Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 Indie Game of the Month
Finally, the very best indie game from July is Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. Even though it has you playing as a brand new character, it continues the action-packed formula of its predecessors beautifully. In fact, I can easily say that it's the fastest game in the series yet. Whether you're zipping through stages, optimizing your Image Pulse loadout, or fighting a boss; you're bound to have a great time. 🏆
