A few weeks ago, I reviewed LucidSound's LS1X and this time around, we're in for a pretty substantial upgrade with the LS10X.

Again, this works perfectly with PS4 so pay no attention to that Xbox logo

The LS10 comes in both LS10P and LS10X models and although the LS1X has a green accent colour while the LS1P has blue, I'm not really sure what the difference is between the LS10 models. Just like the LS1X, this works with both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 although I still don't have any Xbox One controllers with a headset port but I did try it out on PS4. One advantage that this headset has on Xbox One is the fact that it can be used to deliver Windows Sonic surround sound which is pretty cool. v1d30chumz 34-239-154-240

Anyway, the LS10X features similar functionality to the LS1X as it has a fully adjustable microphone and intuitive controls where you rotate the left speaker's outer ring to increase or decrease the volume and tap it to mute the mic which is indicated via an LED light. Finally, although there is a removable boom mic, the LS10X actually has an internal microphone that can be used as an alternative.

With all of that out of the way, the LS10X's main improvement over the LS1X is the fact that it's a stereo headset. While tinkering around with it in the PlayStation 4 settings, I found that only sending the chat audio through makes it come out of the left speaker while sending all audio through allows you to hear both chat and game audio in stereo. After trying both options out, I must say that the latter impressed me a great deal as the chat audio is distinguished from the game audio very well and the game audio sounds absolutely fantastic. As a result, it's a great way to listen to your games if you're playing on your own and don't want the sound to come out of your sound system for whatever reason. In other words, you can think of the LS10X as both a great quality chat headset as well as a versatile pair of gaming headphones. Plus, they're incredibly lightweight and super-comfortable, too. I forgot I was wearing them!

Mary may pretend she can't hear me when she's gaming but I know she can...

Although LucidSound's LS1X is a solid inexpensive chat headset, the LS10X is both that and a fantastic way to simply listen to your games via its wonderful-sounding headphones. If that seems like it suits your needs then I recommend picking up a set.
