Today during Capcom's Mega Man 30th anniversary celebration, they announced the latest in the mainline series to the surprise of fans worldwide. Let's take a quick look at what to expect from next year's Mega Man adventure.
Although Mega Man 9 and 10 were in the style of the 8-bit Mega Man games, Mega Man 11 takes a similar approach to the PSP remake Mega Man Powered Up in that it will be 2.5D. More specifically, the visuals are presented in full 3D while the 2D gameplay will remain. Needless to say, this is an exciting new direction for the Mega Man series and one that I'm looking forward to getting my hands on as a huge long-time fan of the series. One awesome implementation is that when Mega Man is equipped with a special weapon, his actual armour changes shape instead of just its colour and it looks awesome. That being said, only one of these transformations was shown during the presentation so it remains to be seen what the blue bomber will look like in all of his configurations. v1d30chumz 188.8.131.52
Capcom also announced a new Mega Man X collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch containing Mega Man X through X8 and that Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will finally be available for Switch complete with amiibo support. I wonder how that will be implemented...
Mega Man 11 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch late next year so stay tuned for more coverage and look forward to a brand new 2.5D adventure that's sure to be Mega-fun. What are your thoughts on Mega Man 11? Let's chat below!
