5 more indie gems for Switch

Written by A.J. Maciejewski for Features on
We finally have another 5 episodes showcasing the latest Switch indies so sit back and let RC show you what they're all about.
Episode 16 - Bomb Chicken July 30, 2018
Chickens lay eggs. Bomb Chicken lays bombs. So, it's your job to control the little fellow while solving tricky puzzles within its 2D platforming adventure. Being able to use the bombs to navigate to hard-to-reach places and carefully deploy them to trigger switches and such while trying not to become a bucket of KFC is surprisingly challenging yet satisfying stuff.

Episode 17 - Cycle 28 August 2, 2018
Cycle 28 is a strange and abstract game. You basically fly around space while shooting at odd ships and trying not to perish. Its structure is similar to an old-school arcade game where you try and survive as long as possible in order to maximize your score. The multiplier system is tough to master but finally reaching higher and higher scores can be quite rewarding. The question is; do you have what it takes to beat RC's high score? For the record, his cat Sushi tried but didn't quite succeed.

Episode 18 - Cosmic Star Heroine August 7, 2018
16-bit RPGs are some of the best in the genre and Cosmic Star Heroine emulates that era impressively well while also offering unique mechanics and a memorable story. RC definitely enjoyed it seeing as this is the longest episode of The Nindie Nook to date, clocking in at over 25 minutes. So, if you're curious about Cosmic Star Heroine then this is a must-watch video.

Episode 19 - TurtlePop: Journey to Freedom September 3, 2018
TurtlePop: Journey to Freedom is quite possibly the most underrated Nindie currently on the Switch's eShop. Its rewarding puzzle platforming gameplay, cool card-based power-up system, and awesome cast of playable characters makes for a very unique formula. But, don't take my word for it; watch RC give it a go and see what these little turtles are capable of.

Episode 20 - Pilot Sports November 2, 2018
Pilotwings is a stand-out title in Nintendo's library and Pilot Sports carries on the spirit of that memorable franchise rather well. It may be a little rough around the edges at parts but learning how to control the various vehicles in order to master its challenging stages still makes for a fun time. There's a multiplayer component, too, but I don't think Sushi has opposable thumbs...
