The perfect combination of platforming, action, adventure, role-playing, and arcade elements created incredibly addictive gameplay set in fantastical worlds. Three decades of fun in one collection
June 22, 2015 - Rare sure has a long history of developing fantastic games. I must say that it came as a surprise when they announced that a compilation of thirty games will soon come out. In fact, last month I wrote An Obituary for Classic Game Compilations, but I was mistaken. Compilations are far from dead. Not only is Rare Replay on its way; Mega Man Legacy Collection was recently announced, too. Anyway, I figured I'd highlight some Rare titles that I'm most looking forward to, so hopefully this helps whet your appetite.

An improbable yet intriguing ensemble
June 19, 2015 - It's almost inevitable that the newly announced remake of Final Fantasy VII will include voice actors. Considering no one has any idea who they'll be, I thought I would share who I think would be perfect for the job. Of course, I'm being creative and pretending like the game will be completely recast even though the cast of Advent Children was superb. It's all in good fun. Anyway, my dream team may be unrealistic, but I'm looking forward to Square Enix doing a great job of giving new life to their characters in this long-awaited remake.

Still in the game after all these years
June 18, 2015 - Being a gamer for over 25 years, I find it incredible how Nintendo manages to continually put a smile on my face. Although I currently find myself playing PlayStation 4 more than any other console, I always know that I can boot up my Wii U or 3DS and be taken away to imaginative worlds where characters come alive and there's plenty of fun to be had. I figured I would write this article to share my thoughts on some creative Nintendo titles and touch on what they have coming up in their future. So, please enjoy!
