Which is the better SNES platformer?
February 22, 2019 - Super Mario World was one of the launch titles for SNES and it showed what the console was capable of. It remains one of my favorite platformers of all time because of the pixel-perfect 2D graphics, its secrets, and how fun and creative the levels are.

How good of a vampire hunter are you?
January 12, 2019 - Before I started Super Castlevania IV, I thought it would be a Metroidvania but that's not the case. While many Castlevanias are Metroidvanias, Super Castlevania IV is more of an action platformer and it's a darn hard one to boot.

December 21, 2018 - Contra 3: The Alien Wars is one of those maddeningly difficult retro games that will destroy you over and over if you're not prepared. Because I like punishing myself, I decided to see if I could beat the game without relying on the SNES Classic's save states.

The world could use a little balance
September 16, 2018 - Final Fantasy VI has left one heck of a legacy and it's still thought of as one of the greatest games of all time by many SNES and Final Fantasy fans. It even appeared as the final speedrun in SGDQ 2018 which took roughly seven hours.

Mavericks and mayhem
July 23, 2018 - I love classic SNES games and Mega Man X was one such title that I felt compelled to play and I finally did so on the SNES Mini. It doesn't have many action games and the only other 2D shooters are Super Metroid and the controller-throwing Contra III: The Alien Wars.
