I enjoy the occasional online game and Divine Knockout (DKO) really knocks multiplayer fun out of the arena so get ready to fight.

3D Smash
If you're familiar with platform fighters such as Super Smash Bros. and ever wondered what one would be like with 3D gameplay then Divine Knockout (DKO) is here to satisfy your curiosity. The premise is that a bunch of gods from various countries' mythologies are duking it out and you get to control whichever one you want; that is, as long as you have enough unlock coins on-hand. The good news is that it all works beautifully by offering highly enjoyable gameplay, a stand-out presentation, and a wonderfully varied cast of characters. 😄 v1d30chumz 35-172-230-154
Intuitive fighting fun
One of the best aspects about Divine Knockout (DKO) is just how easy it is to play. Sure, you use all 4 face buttons, 4 shoulder buttons, and both sticks but it's all mapped very intuitively. As you run around arenas, you can jump, dash out of harm's way, and unleash an onslaught of light and heavy attacks; the latter of which can knock your opponents far away and potentially out of the arena. Meanwhile, the shoulder buttons correspond to character-specific abilities including an Ultimate move and utilizing those effectively is often the key to victory. Oh, and the left stick moves your character while the right moves the camera, of course. 🎥

Look forward to the cartoon adaptation
Another element that makes Divine Knockout (DKO) stand out is its cartoon-like visuals that are colourful, imaginative, and full of fun. I love watching the little characters scamper around the arenas as they smack each other about and when you throw in eye-popping effects and living environments that may change over time, you're left with a lovely feast for the eyes. The audio is no slouch either as you'll hear subtle orchestral grooves, an enthusiastic announcer, character vocalizations, and (most prominent of all) attack effects that make combat super-gratifying. I'm looking forward to exploring more arenas and experimenting with new characters as they release! 😊
My god is better than yours
I mentioned that the characters play very differently and it's true. Not only do they have very divergent abilities, their light attack combos and heavy smash attacks differ, too. In fact, some are more capable in air while others are stronger on-foot and some can recover from being knocked out of the arena easier while others have the ability to heal their vulnerability build-up. The Ultimate moves are another big difference as some gods can cause serious damage with theirs. Experimenting with what each character is capable of is a huge part of the fun and I loved it so much that I even wrote a lengthy guide in order to help you decide which character you should play as. 😎
Best Divine Knockout Characters per PlaystyleThese gods aren't infallible
My biggest issue with Divine Knockout (DKO) right now is that it gets quite repetitious after playing a short while. Whereas similar games may feature expansive single player content such as the wonderful Slap City, all you do here is fight online over and over again. One cool feature is the fact that there are a few different modes such as capture the zone, collect and deposit coins, and hold onto a crown for as long as you can which definitely mix things up. Another issue is that Divine Knockout (DKO) features a few currencies, a battle pass, level-ups, and all of that jazz which I always find very confusing. Thankfully, I got the Ultimate Edition so I have all 12 characters as well as enough currency for 3 more when they release. I don't really care about cosmetics but you could buy some which is nice. 💄

I may have jumped on the Divine Knockout (DKO) train a bit late but holy hot darn, am I having fun with it! From a varied cast of different-playing gods to a spectacular cartoonish game world and phenomenally fun gameplay; you'll have a great time with DKO.
- + Well-adapted platform fighting to 3D with rewarding combat and tight controls
- + Great variety of characters to play as
- + Cute visual style and satisfying audio
- - Currently gets rather repetitive after a short while and could use more content
- - In-game currencies, battle passes, levels, and all that can be quite confusing
