Marvel's Spider-Man was one of the best games of 2018 and it's now available for PlayStation 5 via a brand new Remastered edition.
Fresh from playing the fantastic Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, I couldn't wait to get back into the original again so the fact that I could play an enhanced version of it was definitely a treat. For starters, this Remastered iteration allows you to load your save file from the PS4 game after you upload it from the main menu which lets you seamlessly carry on with your web-slinging journey. To make things even more seamless, it runs beautifully on PS5 with unnoticeable load times and top-notch visual performance. I kept switching the input channel between the PS4 and PS5 version and found that the PS4 release is a bit brighter while the Remastered game is more photo-realistic. One small gripe is that Peter Parker's face is different for some reason here and I don't really mind it but it is kind of jarring at first. The City That Never Sleeps
Not only does Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered feature a slicker core game, it also includes all of the DLC which is collectively known as The City That Never Sleeps. That's right; you get 3 extra chapters on top of the already lengthy campaign so if you own the original game but don't have the DLC then that should make for much more incentive to purchase this Remastered release. That being said, if you already have the whole package on PS4 then I can only recommend the upgrade for those who are itching to play it again and would appreciate the slight performance and graphical upgrade. Speaking of which, the issues that I had with the original when it first released persist which is expected but I wish more balancing was done and tweaks were implemented to make it feel like a substantially worthwhile upgrade. With that being said, what you get is still one phenomenal package that's bursting with action-packed fun.Marvel's Spider-Man: The Heist Review Marvel's Spider-Man: Turf Wars Review Marvel's Spider-Man: Silver Lining Review
