Kids love PAW Patrol and the adorable cast of familiar puppies are now starring in Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay so let's pounce to it.
PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay is an easy breezy game that's tailored for kids. Its story involves the pups investigating a meteor that crashed on a beach. However, their mission goes in an unexpected direction when the meteor gives them all super-powers. From then on, you simply play through a collection of 7 stages that each feature a variety of tasks yet it's a 3D platformer at its core as you'll spend a good chunk of your time running and jumping around stages while collecting all sorts of treats as well as some cleverly hidden badges. If you'd like to play with a friend then you can enjoy the gameplay with local 2 player co-op which is great. So, whether you want to entertain a couple of youngsters or play with your nephew, PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay is a solid game.
Each mission within PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay's story has you play as a couple of puppies. If you decide to go it alone, you can swap between them on the fly. Whether you're playing as Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, Everest, or Tracker; it's great fun to see what each of these little doggies is capable of. Using their talents will allow you to do things like fix a broken ski lift, set up traffic cones for road safety before rescuing a chicken from a post, and clear snow drifts from a road. Many of these events prompt you to perform certain controller actions and they're all very easy to execute so you probably won't even need to help out or explain anything no matter who you're playing with. Plus, watching citizens light up after you help them is always rewarding.
One aspect that PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay does an excellent job of is representing the familiar cast of characters who are all adorable and well-animated. Watching them lick a human's face or eat some well-earned treats after a mission is incredibly cute stuff indeed. The graphics also shine whenever you perform super-hero actions which have you execute controller sequences while you watch your dog exert themselves or craftily put things together. With all of that being said, it's unfortunate that there is only 1 voiced character (Alex Porter, the human kid) in the entire game. It would have been awesome to hear the whole cast lend their vocal talents to all of the puppies. Other than that, the sights and sounds of PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay are spot-on.
It's true that there are only 7 stages to complete within PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay's brief campaign and they will take under a couple of hours in total to master but there are collectibles to be found which adds some replay value. Trying to find all of the treats and badges in every stage isn't particularly tough to do if you explore a little bit but it's still rewarding to do so, especially because you'll unlock collectible entries in a gallery. On top of that, there are 7 mini-games that'll have you doing things like dance as your puppy of choice in a rhythm game, dive for treasures, and jump rope. Some of these can be a bit of fun but just like with the core gameplay, they're extremely simple. I'd even go as far to say that certain small children may think that it's not challenging enough.
PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay presents an adorable adventure that's full of variety and silly mini-games. If you don't mind that it's short and would like something to entertain the kids, this will certainly do the trick.
